A dead bat was retrieve along the backbone line in Utod in Sitio Salingsing, Calatrava at 1:30 pm today after a concerned consumer reported a loud sound originating from the backbone line which may have been cause by a short circuit after the bat cling on the live wire. Momentary line flickers was experience, but prevented an outage between San Roque ,Calatrava recloser to Dakit dakit San Agustin endline.
Over the last few weeks, at the start of the rainy season, frequent momentary power interruptions are experienced at TIELCO system caused by bats, geckos and sometimes snakes clinging on live wires. Fallen branches, coco leaves and trunks hitting the primary lines are also associated to the outages.
