CY 2026 QUARTERLY NATIONWIDE SIMULTANEOUS EARTHQUAKE DRILL
Earlier today, March 12, 2026, employees of TIELCO participated in the CY 2026 Quarterly Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill held at the TIELCO Main Building. This activity, spearheaded by the National Electrification Administration (NEA), was conducted simultaneously across the country to strengthen earthquake preparedness and promote safety awareness among electric cooperatives and their personnel. In this regard, NEA, as a member-agency of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), actively supports initiatives that enhance disaster readiness and response capabilities across the sector.
During the drill, employees practiced the proper “Duck, Cover, and Hold” procedure to ensure everyone is familiar with the correct response during an earthquake. Safety Officer Joey Vestido also provided guidance and explained the appropriate actions to take in such emergency situations.
Meanwhile, General Manager Dennis L. Alag delivered a brief message emphasizing the importance of preparedness, awareness, and cooperation during disaster situations, highlighting the role of every employee in ensuring workplace safety.
Activities like this reinforce TIELCO’s commitment to maintaining a safe, prepared, and resilient workplace for all. Thank you to everyone who actively participated and supported this important safety initiative. Stay safe and prepared!
