A Consultative Workshop for Romblons Energy Just Transition Roadmap for CY 2025-2040 was initially held yesterday at Lyns Fern Garden in Bgy. Budiong, Odiongan, Romblon spearheaded by the Center for Power Issues and Initiative ( (CPII) headed by CPII Fellows Prof. Maitet Diokno and Wilson Fortaleza in collaboration with TIELCO and ROMELCO.
The roadmap aims to provide insights and plans for Romblons just transition to renewable energy to mitigate issues of dependency to fossil fuel which overtime cost are too volatile, rising energy tariff , environmental protection among others.
The event kick off with the presentation of the initial sketch of the Romblon Just Transition Roadmap by UP based economist/researchers and CPII Fellows James Meraflor and Melba Tutor. This was followed by the Snapshots of Romblon Development Goals and Message of Romblon Governor Trina Firmalo-Fabic.
In the afternoon session, General Managers Dennis L. Alag of TIELCO and Engr. Rene Fajilagutan of ROMELCO made presentations of their Renewable Energy Development in relation to their Distribution Development Plan. A workshop ensued after the completion of the presenrations.
The event was attended by representatives from the LGUs, the academe, national goverment agencies and representatives from ROMELCO and TIELCO.
The TIELCO contingent in attendance includes GM Dennis L. Alag, former GM Engr. Orville F. Ferranco, Engineering Manager Engr. Amante S. Jandoc Jr. and Finance Manager John Paul Fajutagana, CPA.
