The Tablas Island Electric Cooperative, Inc. (TIELCO) encourages all Member-Consumer-Owners (MCOs) and the general public to report any form of illegal electric connection. Verified reports may be eligible for a cash reward.
π Report immediately to the Office of the General Manager.
β‘ Electricity theft is a crime under Republic Act 7832 (Anti-Electricity and Electric Transmission Lines/Materials Pilferage Act of 1994).
Prohibited acts include:

π« Direct tapping (connecting directly to power lines)

π« Flying connections (connecting from one house to another)

π« Use of magnets on electric meters

π« Tampering or bypassing meters using jumpers

π« Intentional meter damage

π« Unauthorized reconnections after disconnection

π« Theft or sale of TIELCO materials and equipment
βοΈ Penalties under RA 7832 include:
π Imprisonment of 6 to 20 years
πΈ Fines ranging from β±10,000 to β±100,000
π Mandatory payment of unbilled consumption plus applicable surcharges before reconnection of electric service
