
TIELCO Management, represented by General Manager Dennis L. Alag, Board of Director President Arturo J. Fronda, and FSD Manager John Paul I. Fajutagana, participated in the Legislative Committee Hearing of the Committee on Legal Matters organized by the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Odiongan.
The session was convened to discuss TIELCO’s availment of the Preferential Rights granted to Electric Cooperatives under Republic Act No. 7160 (Local Government Code) in connection with Republic Act No. 10531 (National Electrification Administration Reform Act). The hearing was presided over by Sangguniang Bayan (SB) Member Jackiri “Jack” M. Fernandez, Chairperson of the Committee on Legal Matters.
Also present were Vice Mayor Diven F. Dimaala, SB Members Marvin Al “Kit” Firmalo, Juvy F. Faderogaya, Manuel “Don-Don” F. Fernandez, Kaila A. Yap, Joel F. Falogme, MPDC Head Engr. Alexander G. Foja, Acting Municipal Treasurer Ms. Myla F. Jusay, and Mr. Nicasio Fiedacan representing the Office of the Mayor.
The dialogue was productive, with both parties expressing their concerns. TIELCO’s representatives emphasized the importance and legal basis of the Joint Memorandum Circular 2024-12-001, along with issuances from the Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF), supporting the Cooperative’s position.
