To reinforce its commitment to workplace safety and disaster preparedness, Tablas Island Electric Cooperative, Inc. (TIELCO) participated in a simultaneous Earthquake and Fire Drill facilitated by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) on March 13, 2025.

The drill provided employees with vital hands-on experience and safety education to improve their response to emergency situations. BFP personnel led a comprehensive demonstration on fire safety protocols, focusing on the TPASS method (Twist, Pull, Aim, Squeeze, and Sweep) in using fire extinguishers. Employees practiced proper techniques in suppressing fires and learned how to prevent escalation in emergency scenarios.

Additionally, the session covered earthquake safety, emphasizing evacuation procedures, identification of safe zones, and the importance of staying calm and coordinated during seismic events.

TIELCO values the safety and preparedness of its workforce and continues to engage in proactive initiatives to uphold its responsibility toward employee welfare and operational resilience.
