The Department of Trade and Industry( DTI) Romblon Provincial Office headed by Mr. Noel DR. Flores, Provincial Director, held today a half day Consumers Forum at the Food Processing Building of the Romblon State University Main Campus in Odiongan, Romblon in celebration of the 2023 Worlds Consumers Rights Day.

With the theme: “EMPOWERING CONSUMERS THROUGH CLEAN ENERGY OPTIONS” TIELCO General Manager Dennis L. Alag and Engineering Manager, Engr. Amante S. Jandoc Jr. was invited as speakers in the forum together with Odiongan Water District General Manager, Engr. Carlos Formilleza.

GM Alag shared TIELCOs accomplishments and its plans /programs towards empowering the Member-Consumer-Owners of TIELCO and benchmarked its effort to contract power supplies that combines green energy options which in his presentation highlighted the installed Solar Plant of its generation supplier SUWECO Tablas Energy Corporation that integrates in its operation combination of Diesel Plant, Solar Plant and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) that interacts with each other thru an intelligent Hybrid Technology. GM Alag also shared its plan to adopt E-Commerce payment thru EC Pay to allow consumers to comfortably pay their bills using online platform like GCash among others.

Engr. Jandoc on his part shared Tipid Kuryente Tips to the participants especially that summer months are forthcoming where increase in energy utilization is expected.

The forum was attended by mixed group coming from the academe, the women sector, Senior citizens group and ordinary consumers.
