TASK FORCE FOR ABRECO TO HELP IMPROVE ITS SERVICE | JANUARY 27, 2023


NEA Administrator Antonio Mariano C. Almeda created a new task force that will improve thedelivery of electric service of AbraElectric Cooperative (ABRECO).

In a consultative meeting in llocos Sur last 24 January 2023, Administrator Almeda sought the helpof the Region 1 Electric Cooperatives Association (RECA 1) in rehabilitating the lines of ABRECO.Central Pangasinan Electric Cooperative, Inc. (CENPELCO), llocos Norte Electric Cooperative,Inc.(INEC), and llocos Sur Electric Cooperative, Inc. (ISECO) heeded the call of the NEA Chief. Linemenof these electric cooperatives (ECs) will be part of the task force and will stay in Abra for two weeksto fulfill its mission. On the other hand, La Union Electric Cooperative, Inc. (LUELCO) will bedonating materials to ABRECO for the operation.

Before the consultative meeting, the Administrator together with Deputy Administrator for TechnicalServices Atty. Omar M. Mayo, Deputy Administrator for EC Management Services Engr. Ernesto O.Silvano, Jr. and Management and Consultancy Services Office Department Manager Atty.XerxesD. Adzuara visited ABRECO’s head office on 23 January 2023. They discussed with the officials ofABRECO, led by General Manager Loreto P. Seares, Jr. and Project Supervisor Bienvenida M.TongoI, the various challenges that the EC is facing. The NEA Chief reviewed the financial statementof the EC and laid out plans on how to address the problem. One of these is through immersionwherein ABRECO will study, acquire and apply the best practices of an EC with good performance.
