ROMBLON ENERGY PLAN FORMALLY HANDED TO ROMBLON PROVINCIAL OFFICIALS AND TIELCO BY DOE IN TWO SEPARATE ACTIVITIES | APRIL 19, 2022


The updated Romblon Energy Plan that was prepared by the Department of Energy (DOE) was formally handed to the Provincial Government of Romblon and TIELCO officials in two separate ceremonial activity that was undertaken yesterday morning in Odiongan, Romblon. The activity was spearheaded by DOEs Policy and Energy Planning Bureau Director Michael Sinocruz together with his Bureau staff where the first turnover ceremony was undertaken at TIELCO Main office handing down the 20 copies of the bookbinded Energy Plan to General Manager Dennis L. Alag together with all the Department Managers of TIELCO. In the later part of the morning, a formal turnover ceremony was also held at Dobs events place where the Romblon Energy Plan was also handed down by DOE to Romblon Governor and concurrent Regional RDC Chairman Jose Reano in the presence Provincial Administrator Atty. Lisette Mortel and a number of Provincial Government Department Heads.
 
The Romblon Energy Plan contains an in depth study of the province energy roadmap for the next two decades which are vital tool in the conduct of the developmental plan for the province in terms of investment, providing outlooks on energy and oil supply security for the province.
 
Among the listed plan is the possible inter connection of the TIELCO distribution system to the Visayan Grid thru submarine cable from Boracay Island passing thru Carabao Island to Tablas via the Municipality of Sta. Fe.
Director Sinocruz had asked the support of Governor Riano to facilitate the endorsement of the interconnection plan to the RDC to facilitate the funding of the sub transmission facility.
