In addition to government aid and the NEA administrator’s visit, NEA employees volunteered to provide some financial assistance to the families of those who lost their lives in the line of duty.
At the time of the reported incidents, Al Abarico of Surigao del Norte Electric Cooperative (SURNECO), and Ronald Gallarde of Negros Oriental II Electric Cooperative (NORECO II) were working to restore the electricity of their respective Odette-affected areas.
They will both be remembered for their exceptional efforts to alleviate the aftermath of Super Typhoon Odette. In honor of these men and in the spirit of solidarity, the NEA employees initiated a collection to be given to the families of Abarico and Gallarde.
As of 27 December 2021, they have raised a total of P50,000.###
