A simultaneous line clearing activity was undertaken today in ten (10) municipalities under TIELCO franchise by Service Center Crew of Guinhayaan, Looc, Calatrava, Sta. Maria, San Jose, Odiongan main and clearing crew under the COMD Department to clear out line disturbance following the requirements of Rebublic Act 11361 or the Anti-Obstruction of Power Line Law. The activity that was undertaken includes pruning and cutting of vegetation within 3.5 meter radius of the Power Line Corridor. Over the last few weeks, at the onset of the southwest monsoon winds “Habagat” several line faults were associated to vegetations that are directly touching the distribution lines of TIELCO and these faults triggered continuous fault interruption to TIELCO’s feeder system.

The line clearing activity is a continuing program being undertaken by TIELCO year round. In 2019, TIELCO cleared a total of 115.230 circuit kilometers of line while in CY 2020, a total of 75.646 circuit kilometers amidst the movement restriction brought along by the pandemic.
