Power Supply Update | May 02, 2021 | 06:00 AM

Few minutes past 6:00 a.m. today, SUWECO Tablas Energy Corporation implemented a total plant shutdown to accommodate the retrieval and replacement of two gensets for the purpose of mitigating the shortfall in power supply in Tablas Island over the last few days. The work requirement for the genset replacement is expected to last until 3pm today.
Yesterday, May 1, 2021, two units 1.1 MW gensets arrived from Manila via Lucena port and was delivered to STEC Diesel Plant at around 3 pm.
With the eventual commissioning of the new engines, STEC will be provided with reserves to answer for demand surge and possible machine breakdown especially during the remaining summer months and possibly avoid load shedding activities.
