This was the pronounced statement of Assistant Minority Leader Sergio Dagooc directed to the Department of Energy as the House Committee on Energy held the second deliberation of HB 468 or Strengthening the National Electrification Administration Bill today, March 25.
AML Dagooc, as the Representative of the 121 electric cooperatives together with the #PowerBloc, believes that the DOE must allow the NEA to perform its function as the implementing arm of the government for total electrification as mandated by Presidential Decree 269.
Through HB 468, the NEA will be converted into the National Electrification Authority, defining and enhancing its powers, functions and operations to achieve the government’s policy for total rural electrification, providing funds therefor.
